Swordtember 2: Mighty Quill

Why settle for the pen or the sword when you can have both?

Day 2 of Swordtember, and still feeling like I have some momentum! I thought it would be fun to play with the prompt "Light" as in weight rather than brightness. I started with the idea of a feather, and everything else sort of built out from there.

Mighty Quill

Weapon (Rapier), Rare (requires attunement)

This magical quill can manipulate ink connected to the quill within 5 feet as if it had perfect telekinetic control over it. If you use the type of magical ink used in spellbooks, you can harden the ink as an action into shapes you have drawn with it, which has the strength and hit points of a similar object made of wood. Each cubic inch of hardened ink costs 10 gold worth of ink, or you can create 10 feet of wire for 1 gold worth of ink.

Additionally, as a bonus action, you can draw a blade in the air, hardening it into a usable weapon. This is treated as a rapier with a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls. You can decide that this blade deals slashing damage instead of piercing damage upon drawing it.

As a special attack in which you are proficient, you can dismiss your blade by splashing ink out at a creature’s eyes. It has a range of 15/30 and being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn't impose disadvantage on this ranged attack. If it hits, it deals no damage, but the creature is blinded until they take an action to wipe their face.
